It was quite a surprise to find that Microsoft had included ten ringtones in Windows 7. They were not located in a convenient location but Long Zheng from istartedsomething spotted them in this directory:
%ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Ringtones
My tastes seem to agree with Zheng’s, since I found Ringtone 1 and 2 to be my favorites as well:
Ringtone 1 – Download MP3 format, M4R (iPhone)
Ringtone 2 – Download MP3 format, M4R (iPhone)
Zheng extracted all ten ringtones and converted them in compatible formats for convenience. You can download them from here.
Blogsdna also put a RAR file with all ten ringtones, each in .m4r and .mp3 format, which you can download on Mediafire.

Is it wrong that I’m using these on my iPhone? Haha!
it’s not wrong, but HIGHLY illegal to extract and redistribute ANY portions of the OS! I definitely wouldn’t be bragging about it, nor name the person who does suck things.
we live in a different world now, where apparently illegal mp3s ARE illegal, etc…!
Do I have to jailbreak my iPhone in order to use these ringtones?
Please help.
It seems that #5 is a part of main theme from “Firefly” TV series. Are they licensed it?
Ooooh, yeah definitely illegal.
Very cool though!
