In Windows 7 Build 7057, a text file called desktop.ini opens during startup every time. When playing with leaked builds, you always run into the risk of having random or strange bugs occur but this bug can easily be fixed. Try method 1 first and if it doesn’t solve the problem, then proceed to Method 2. Thanks to mmg1818 for submitting the tip to our forums.
Method 1:
1) Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
2) Delete desktop.ini
3) Navigate to C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
4) Delete desktop.ini if it’s there
Method 2:
1) Under Folder Options -> View , select “Show hidden files, folders and drives” and un-check “Hide protected operating system files” so that you can see the hidden desktop.ini files.

2) Open the start menu and type the following into the Start Search box: shell:startup and press Enter. The start menu startup folder will open, where you will find a desktop.ini file. Delete it.
3) Open the start menu again and type this into the Start search box: shell:common startup and press Enter. The “all users” start menu startup folder will open, where you will find a desktop.ini file. Delete it too.
4) Done. Reboot and the desktop.ini will not appear again.

There is another bug, too, which gets on my nerves. If I pin recycle bin to windows explorer, and then right on recycle bin, “Empty the recycle bin” doesn’t appear. The same goes for Computer. “Manage” or “Properties” don’t appear.
I don’t think MS would be so careless as to leave something like that out.
Even if they do, they said they would release the taskbar API to developers (actually I believe I have seen it floating around the web already) and some developer will probably be able to mod it.
Tomorrow I will post a tip on how to pin any item onto the taskbar. It won’t give you empty recycle bin, but at least you don’t have to right click the folder icon and move your mouse all the way up to access the recycle bin xD
will 7057 work on a unibody macbook pro? currently I have 7000 on my macbook via bootcamp.
give this tutorial a try:

This is not so much of a bug, but a lack of setting the ‘hidden’ attribute for those files. Thing I do is just go to a command prompt (as Admin) and change dir to C:\ and run the following, so that every desktop.ini gets the hidden attribute set:
For /r %f in (desktop.?ni) do attrib +H +S “%f”
thank u, nice tips
