Windows Movie Maker 14 Released

Windows Movie Maker 14 is out of beta and officially released. It can be downloaded through Windows Live Essentials Wave 3, Microsoft’s software suite. Many were wondering why Windows 7 was not bundled with applications such as Mail and Messenger that were part of Vista. They are now part of Windows Live Essentials that must be downloaded. Quick Fix Engineering (QFE) patches have also been released for all the Windows Live applications.

Movie Maker now uses the ribbon UI like Paint in Windows 7 and Office 2007.

Hopefully it has more functionality than the beta did. The beta was nothing compared to Windows Vista Movie Maker.

Windows 7 Live Movie Maker lacks the functionability of Windows Vista Movie Maker as it has no timeline also Windows Movie Maker 2.6 & Windows Movie Maker 1.0 build 6.5 lack HD. Youtube videos are always cropped .

  8. Mack says:

Why can’t they just make WMM Vista version compatible with Windows 7 timeline plus you can save videos widescreen HD ?

  9. Cariad1256 says:

Biggest disappointment with Win 7 is WMM is not in it. I downloaded Live Essentials but WMM is not in there either. I’ll be going back to Vista or (dare i say it) my macbook if i don’t get it sorted. I thought Win 7 was going to be special but its just Vista with less items
