According to Geeksmack and Neowin, Microsoft will officially announce the final Windows 7 RTM build on July 13th. The date also coincides with Wzor’s unconfirmed rumor last month. Coincidentally, this is the same day the WPC09 (Worldwide Partner Conference) takes place in New Orleans.
Microsoft originally announced that they were set to hit the RTM milestone approximately in a month and a half’s time from June. They also said the build would be sent out to Microsoft partners during the last two weeks of July. The latest build is Build 7268 and was compiled on July 1st – 6.1.7268.0.win7_rtm.090701-1900. Windows 7 is set for General Availability on October 22nd.
Update: Microsoft stated in a Press Release that the Windows 7 RTM code will be delivered to partners in the second half of July. That should be sometime from July 15-31.

so now the monkey comes out of the bag:
7268 the final build?
and does it require the same trick?
who does it know, may speak…
Fake!
Last build will be for july 15, and july 22 is the RTM build final, not 13!
Can’t wait for the few weeks to finialize Windows 7.
will the REAL RTM be leaked on torrents shortly after july 13? also, will it ever work with rc keys?
When it leaks, you will find out here =)
It won’t work with RC keys. Nobody knows exactly when it will be leakend on torrents.
Thanks for the info.
hey dude, my french is bad, say it in chinese..or english will do
He said that many sources, as Neowin, Geeksmack, Windows7Center and, of course, Wzor confirmed the 13th of July as the day for the final version of Windows 7.
Can’t wait for RTM! I pre-ordered the Home Premium upgrade the day it was available! My days working with Vista are numbered!
John, happily going to never never land, do you?
So something is confirmed by the fact that one site’s rumor is corroborated by a statement from another site that likes traffic in rumors; neither of whom can name a source. If I say it will be out tomorrow and call up an “unidentified source” to confirm, does that mean it will be out even faster? A far more approriate title would be “Windows 7 RTM Rumored to be Set for July 13.”
BTW, it would be a bit of a surpise if it was 7/13 anyway. I thought people were now aware of Microsoft’s curious recent history of avoiding the number 13 (such as skipping Office 13 in favor of Office 14 as the internal designation of Office 2010)….
