The language packs are not as big as expected… Do I just imagine this or are they much smaller than at Vista?

  2. Brandan says:

I had them for such a long time on my windows 7 RC1 its not news.

    • Easo says:

Brandan, they are different versions, a lot of things has changed from RC to RTM, and the translations too.

I am a Microsoft supporter for a long time. But, W7 multiple languages support package needs the Enterprise or Ultimate version is beyond ridicules. Does Microsoft want to force people to use English in U.S., Chinese in China, regardless the language preference? From Window 95 to Vista, there has no such restriction in the language preference.

An OS is supposed to help not to create barrier to the consumers. User friendly is the key!

I completely agree. MS now wants to nickel and dime its customers for something the customers always had before. So the extra money MS gets by doing is worth the animosity it will build among its customers? It’s like MS is trying its best to help its haters with better, legitimate reasons.

  15. doss says:

As a long time Mac user, I find it difficult to fathom that I cannot switch languages in the OS unless I upgrade to higher version of Windows 7. It’s just so 90′s. Very disappointing!

  16. Nash says:

As the process was well anticipated looong before ‘Win’7 development got started, this is a half-baked version on the MacOS window dressing (sic) as has been going on through history. Of course people will continue with the conditioning process of normalizating stupid.
As with the rest of the globalist control of your minds, the opposite of the truth rings right in your face.
Win (for the loser life). Proof? If you have to guess we’ll see where you are by the end of 2010.

    MS, sure, watch me -o-

  28. jonathan says:

I just bought a 1600.00 euro laptop in germany only to discover that it will not install the os in english. Microsoft have gone mad.
I took it back to the sales guy, who later turned out to be the department manager, and he expressed his surprise that I had expected a laptop bought in germany to install in english. I expressed my surprise that he had been installed as a manager. Considering the fact that he knew I did not speak german – mainly because of the conversation we had prior to purchase regarding my not speaking german. Yet, he failed to mention this might be a problem with regards to win7. His solution was both practical and brilliant. Spend 300.00 euro more on win7 ultimate. My solution… REFUND!!!! Now he can explain to the store manager why there’s a used X500 in stock.
