Windows 7 Release Candidate to be released to public on May 5th

Microsoft just updated it’s Partner Program website indicating that the Windows 7 RC download is now available to Technet and MSDN subscribers. Strangely, subscribers are telling me they aren’t able to download right now. Perhaps, Microsoft is pulling off another stunt and accidentally posting again. Everyone else will be available to download the RC on May 5th, 2009, much earlier than the earlier suspected date.

Update: The page appears to be an accidental post, and Windows 7 Center was told that the download will not be available on MSDN or Technet for a while. The page will likely be taken down, so here is a screenshot of what was originally posted:

Windows 7 Center will keep you posted when we receive updates on any download dates or build leaks. You can subscribe to our RSS (What is RSS?) feed or Email Subscription newsletter to keep up with the updates. For instant live updates, you can follow us on Twitter @windows7center

Update 2: Been told that this is the message given out by Microsoft Online Concierge Chat:

Currently the Windows 7 RC has not been avaiable through the TechNet subscription yet, only the Microsoft OEM partners such as Dell, Siemens are taking part in the RC’s this period of test
