Microsoft wasn’t kidding when they said preorders had “limited quantities.” According to Engadget, Japan becomes the first region to completely sell out on Windows 7 preorders. Microsoft told Engadget Japan that 30,000 copies were sold. Despite the fast sellout, the Japanese retailers reported sales as “considerable.” It only took 1.5 out of the 10 days planned for the proders to completely sell out. Retailers in North America have yet to report any sellouts, but it still may be wise to take advantage of the preorder special as soon as possible before it is too late.
