Windows 7 Pre-Beta will be Build 6801

Anyone attending PDC 2008 will be happy (or unhappy) to hear that they will be receiving Windows 7 M3 Build 6801 with their 160GB HD and Windows 7 Promo Rap Video.

I had not written a post on this yet even though you may have spotted the news in the blogosphere because I wanted to be sure on all the details. Many of the posts you may have read seemed disappointing because M3 screenshots were leaked a while back, and many were hoping they would receive a more updated build. To translate that into English, it’s Windows 7 Build 6801 compiled in the WinMain lab on October 20, 2008. That date is much more recent than when the screenshots were leaked, suggesting that

Another interesting discovery was that the security update was provided not only for the 32-bit version of Windows 7, but also for 64-bit and Itanium-based versions of the OS. Will all 3 be offered on the HD at PDC?
