Microsoft confirmed in a one-on-one briefing session with Cnet UK that they will indeed be providing a version of Windows 7 specifically tailored for netbooks and sub-level notebooks.

Separate editions will be available for consumers and enterprise users, but no word as to whether this would be sold as a standalone or made only available to laptop manufacturers. I’m sure many of us saw this coming seeing how confident Asus’ CEO was in making the announcement that Windows 7 will be put on all EEE PCs by second half 2009. Let’s hope he wasn’t wrong when he said “second-half” of 2009.
