Windows 7 coming to Volume Licensing starting September

Microsoft announced that businesses with Volume Licenses will be able to receive Windows 7 starting September 1. A 15%-35% discount is offered to those with Volume License deals on an upgrade to Windows 7 Professional. Any PC with a qualifying operating system such as Windows XP Professional or Windows Vista Business will be eligible. The promotion will last over a span of six months. The following was the statement received from a Microsoft spokesperson:

As of September 1 our business customers will be able to order Windows 7 through our Volume Licensing partners to support their Windows 7 planning and deployment strategies. To help partners take advantage of the opportunity to upgrade businesses to Windows 7, we will start a limited time, 6 month promotion of 15 percent or more off the price of the Windows 7 Professional upgrade compared to the Windows Vista price.

This is different from the Software Assurance offer that was posted about a few days ago. Technet and MSDN subscribers can expect to receive the code for Windows 7 RTM a few weeks after its finalization, which is due in the second half of July.
