Windows 7 Build 7227 Download Leaks
Windows 7 Build (Service Pack 1) SP1 7227 has made its way onto the tubes again. It was first leaked as a VHD but can be found as an image file now, although only in the 32-bit edition. The build string is 7227.0.winmain_sp.090602-2110
Russian site Wzor reports that build 6.1.7229.0.winmain.090604-1901 is expected to be distributed sometime between June 10th and June 15th. Builds compiled after 7229 will be RTM candidate builds and will no longer be distributed to partners. Perhaps we won’t be seeing any leaks for a while.

There is also a changelog leaking around. As stated before, changes made to builds after the RC are mostly related to bug fixes and increased compatibility. It is highly unlikely we will be seeing any UI or dramatic changes. Here’s the changelog circulating around for those interested:
1. Changes in the mechanism for displaying thumbnails in the taskbar.
2. Pop-Up lists for the panel
3. Pop-Up lists for Remote Desktop
4. Applying the settings of the taskbar
5. Multitouch zoom
6. Invert selection
7. You can search for music by artist
8. View the contents of the search results
9. Intelligent indexing after installation
10. Reducing the length of playback sounds system
11. Changes in the panel Devices and Printers
12. Changes in the mechanism of extraction devices
13. Support for FireWire-cameras
14. Reduction in section in system
15. Improved driver support
16. Reducing the paging file
17. Assigning a letter to boot with two OS loaded
18. Naming the section reserved for the system.
According to Russian site Wzor, sometime between June 10th and June 15th, the last build handed out to corporate partners will be distributed. The build will be 6.1.7229.0.winmain.090604-1901. After this only RTM candidate builds will be compiled. None of these builds will be distributed externally to partners.
Microsoft previously announced that the RTM was scheduled for mid to late July. Neowin is reporting that if the build quality of the RTM candidate builds are very high, there’s even a possibility that we will be seeing the RTM by the end of June.

Hey all, grabbed this off of BitTorrent, then downloaded it to my computer (grabbed it on a seedbox). Will be testing it as soon as VirtualBox downloads.
If things look decent I’ll post up a direct download link. Not RapidShare, not MegaUpload, my own server, though it’ll only be 3TB of bandwidth.
Then again, if the official RC2/RTM comes out tomorrow I’ll probably mirror that instead.
This build is fake.
And how do you know it’s fake besides the fact that you’ve never seen it?wzor has been 99.99 percent reliable when it comes to leaks so i’m quite sure this is real.

I think I’ll stick with 7201 for now. I just reformatted. When Windows 7 comes out, I’m planning to grab Server 2008 R2 from Microsoft’s Dreamspark program and install that then convert it to a workstation by enabling and disabling some services. Well then I’m going to get a tablet PC to take full advantage of the multitouch features of Windows 7 and leave this laptop for somebody in the family to use. I’ll take the tablet with me to college.

for some odd reason, yes, indeed the setup says 7201 BUT once you installed, apparently it upgrades to the SP1
