Just two days after the leak of 32-bit Windows 7 Build 7077, the 64-bit edition has been leaked. Thankfully, there’s no crazy story or sneaky uploading tactics involved during this leak. Thanks to SoLoR who first spotted the leak and notified us in the forums, and was also able to confirm that the file is genuine.

So.. THIS many people care, eh?
O_o
a little surprising, in a way..
Probably going strait to the forums.
Great…it’s already up to 3 gigs.
had anyone notice that as each build increase in build number. the average memory been consume used also increase. i hope this is not true and that is my computer fault. but i been notice that on average my computer memory used is around 1gig on build 7000, 1.3gig from build 7048 and now it at 1.8gig on build 7068. runing window 7 64bit version.
I am upgraded from Vista -> 7048-> 7068 -> 7077 and didn’t notice any memory increase. On a 32-bit platform that is.
I didn’t notice this but memory consumption is a good thing. If you think about it, you buy 2GB of RAM but what good is it if Windows only uses 1GB of it all the time?
Windows ideology is that unused RAM is wasted RAM. When a new application is run and needs to use RAM, Windows knows how to free up RAM for that application.
So I would see this as an improvement of RAM utilisation on Microsoft’s part. Perhaps you should post a thread in our forums and ask others how their experience was.
I’ve been on 64 bit since 7048 I believe and I haven’t had memory problems as far as I know….
Let it eat ram i got 8 gigs in system and a quad core processor running at 3.0 ghz let it test my system…..lol
nah i had no problem with it using up more ram. i just though it was my computer end fault for increase in memory usage. i got 8gig ram so yea. cos i been reading that window 7 doesnt use up lots of memory. so i was just wondering why with the increase that is all
yep. Windows automatically adjusts depending on how much RAM you install. So statistics would be different for a computer with 512MB RAM, which can also run Windows 7 btw
