We said we would update you as soon as the torrent is uploaded and we have. The 32-bit version of Windows 7 Build 7048 is now up. The torrent was originally uploaded by ofsound at PirateBay and his previous uploads make him seem pretty credible.

Woot, grabbing this now.
http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/3413/7048×68.jpg it’s real.
These leakers are on a roll.
I wonder if this is causing havoc on Microsoft’s Feedback system. Clearly they don’t want everybody’s feedback on these builds.
maybe they are tired of their feedbacks
Screenie wasn’t from me, credit goes to SoLoR.
fixed it, thanks for contributing too though =)
In the torrent description it says there’s a new sound scheme. Is this true? I heard that the sound scheme was the same as Vista’s.
I haven’t been using 7048 heavily but downloads for unique sounds are being made elsewhere. I’m sure it does, but I haven’t noticed it.
Are sound schemes that big of a deal though? I did not bother paying too much attention to it since it seems like a very small detail. Perhaps I should cover it on w7c?
Thank you for the info
Thanks for the update. Gonna have to play around with it this weekend.
Rapidshare please, torrents are sooooo slow will take ages to download
Not a big fan of rapidshare. Don’t you have to wait 15 minutes before downloading the next files? Usually they are split into like 10-20 files.
i have premum account!
I’m running the beta right now and I guess I can wait for the RC to come out. It will be a bigger upgrade for me then anyway as more stuff will have changed.
7044 seems much snappier than 7000 or even 7022 (but it could be I’m on 64-bit)
64-bit build 7000 was EXTREMELY buggy for me.
But that being said, I think most people should just wait for RC. I “do” have to keep up with the latest trends so I update all the time =P
Thank u very much for this update.
Can you discuss the changes made in build 7048 from 7000 [32-bit].
New Icons
Ability to remove/install many more features of Windows such as WMP/IE/Media Center
New Wallpaper / Sound Scheme
No more Send Feedback at the corner of every window
Reworked Remote Desktop
Taskbar can accomodate more items
Alt+Tab also activates Aero Peek

UAC has not been changed yet
This is just a quick list. Have not had the time to thorougly test the OS myself
oh thanks
u n00bs are all excited for the Wrong RELEASE the future of win 7 already leaked and thats what u should be jumpin on not this half ass x86 try the 64bit NOW!!!!!!
if you have hardware capable of 64-bit I do recommend you look at 64-bit
Most of you should or may have 64-bit capable hardware but not know it. You guys should look into it =)
I prefer to use x86 because it is more compatible at the present. But certainly x64 has better performance.
Anyone know if any of the patchers work for this and prevent the time bomb? I’d like to use this up until the RC is out.
RC will be out in April. So the time bomb deactivation is not needed.
Thanks a lot guys for how quick you informed us. I was waiting very much for this release. This is the best W7 site by the way. All the best.
Build 7048 64 bit was VERY slow for me. Now I tried the 32 bit version, and it works like a dream.
Vista x64 was slow for me too, even if I have a quite good CPU. I think that the only 2 GB of RAM were the cause…
RAM shouldn’t have been the problem. x64 allows more than 4GB doesn’t mean you need that much.
Strange why it was slower. But build 7000 64-bit was very buggy for me compared to current build 7048 64-bit

Thanks a lot!
Thanks a milion!!!!
Thanks a lot. It’s real, so it’s great. I was waiting for this!
I have a Core 2 Duo, but i’m still not convinced I should bother with x64. Why risk having something be uncompatible? I only have 2 GBs of Ram (and will probably upgrade to 4GB soon – but no more).
If someone has a more convincing arguement other than “You can use +4GB” or “you’re (very few) x64 programs will run faster o it”, please help me get convinced.
I’ve only recently explored 64-bit and tbh, don’t know a whole lot about it. Here’s a link that might help:
http://i.gizmodo.com/5133771/why-you-should-go-64+bit-with-windows-7
Those kinds of articles are all over the place. I’m surprised how they manage to write so many words and yet say so little to why x64 is really worth switching over =).
Let’s face it… x64 is *not* the standard right now for home PC windows users. Until it is (meaning, companies prioritize programs/games/drivers for x64 before they do x86), then it’s not worth to switch.
Unless you are in desperate need to use 4GB+ (which is rare unless you’re running some kind of server), then x64 is not worth the risk of losing the ability to use some of your favorite apps.
I’m a software developer and run many apps at the same time, and 2GB is still good enough today (but i’ll admit, we’re getting to the point slowly where 2gb will stop being enough). I think it’s a misconception to thing that having lots of ram will make your comp run faster. Unless your HD is thrashing because it needs virtual memory, then RAM won’t help you.
I think 2GB is the sweet spot for now and probably for the next year or two.
Only hardcore gamers have a strong reason to have more than that IMO.
I hate notebook configurations that offer 3GB of RAM. What would you be doing on a notebook that needs 3GB of RAM?
Ha yeah, agree.
I think they are future-proofing. If you plan on having the laptop for 3+ years, you’ll probably hit the 3gb/4gb standard days.
Thanks for the notice of the release. I installed it first as an update to 7022 and at the end of the install got the error, Windows Explorer Has Stopped Working. Then the OS attempts to fix it and then it restarts WE. But the error pops up again and goes through the same cycle every 25 seconds. So next I did a clean install, but the very same problem happens.
Buile 7022 runs okay.
Anyone else getting this?
I just love your website.
I want to thank u for all these solutions and updates.
Keep up the good work.
I think there should be a “Home” button on this site.
The Home button is the logo but ya I guess I should add it since there’s quite a bit on the home page to see
got it ty all
I am currently running the 32-bit version of windows 7 build 7048, which I upgraded from build 7022. The only problem that I am having is that the weather gadget is giving me the error saying “Service Not Available in your Region. I tried bigger cities like San Francisco and New York. Nothing works. I am connected to the internet and I can access all websites. Anyone else have this problem?
Try changing your location to United Sates (search for ‘change location’ in the start menu), and do a restart. If that doesnt fix the problem, there are some complicated ways, just google with the right keywords.
but this is why i always install windows with the default language and location settings (United States) selected, even when i’m not in the US.
