Windows 7 Build 7048 Wallpapers
Windows 7 Build 7048 comes with 45 new wallpapers which include a new architecture, characters, and scene group. Localization wallpapers also seem to be updated with fresh new ones as well.
You can download the entire Windows 7 Build 7048 Wallpaper pack by torrent here. (Note: The torrent contains every Windows 7 Wallpaper from Build 7000-7048) It’ll probably be faster than the direct download and will save me bandwidth. Download through torrent by clicking here.

Er, yes….very nice….they’re….photographs.
Have I missed something? Without a doubt they are nice photographs, but whats so great about that?
If people are getting excited about these then I really hope they dont visit a site like TrekEarth or they may loose all control.

Is this a selling point for Windows 7? Is this really something Microsoft will use to push Win 7? New backdrops….wow.
I suppose along with the 45 new wallpaper will come an even bigger footprint for Windows 7 (something which I was led to believe was being reduced by Microsoft)
I wonder how many more of these “great” and “innovative” features will be added to Win 7 before RC?

Wow, why is there always someone who has to be negative and start an argument?
These wallpapers where only posted because they were available and some people may be interested in them. No one’s saying “Go buy Windows 7 because it has new wallpapers”. They’re simply being posted for those who are curious and may wanna look.
Not everything is posted with the intent to hype Windows 7. If your not interested in the new wallpapers, then don’t look and don’t post. No one called them “selling points”,”innovative” or “features”. If your gonna bitch about features then bitch about them in a post about a Windows 7 feature. Don’t be a Jobs.
I thought this was a debate that encouraged peoples views. Have you ever considered that an OS is far more than pretty backdrops and sfx? If Windows 7 is going to be a great OS then I think its users have a responsibility to stand up and say “We want security and performance to be priority” and they should care less about how the system looks.
I think this has been the problem in the past. Ive said before that I think the average Windows user is largely responsible for the binary monster of Windows, since the demand (IMO) for better asthetics and more nannying has driven Microsoft to meet that demand adding ever increasing amounts of bloat to the system.
Its actually one area where I give Microsoft some praise, they really have gone out of their way to cater and appeal to, as many of their customers as possible (IMO). Unfortunately in doing so I believe the Vista product was the result of all those demands, and maybe why it had such a hammering in the press.
Speaking as someone who develops software, things like wallpapers (the bells and whistles if you like) are the last considerations made, since the coding and optimization of the core is far more important.
In my opinion if users want to see pretty wallpapers, great, but remember the point of releasing the beta is to iron out important things like bugs and compat.
I dont want to knock the genuine people here who are interested in Win 7, but isnt the purpose of an OS to run as quietly and unassumingly as possible in the background, using as little system resources as possible and act as a launch pad for other software?
Maybe the days of Workbench are long gone, because it seems people in the main put alot of importance into how something looks not how well it operates.
