The Windows 7 RC/RTM release date guessing game… who’s right?

As we near the date of the Windows 7 release, release date speculations have been coming up all over the place. You can check out our Windows 7 rumor roundup for a quick rundown of Windows 7 rumors prior to today.
Today is another crazy day for rumors, as we were able to gather 3 different Windows 7 release date rumors.
- Collins Stewart (a wealth management firm) analyst projected that Microsoft will finalize the code for Windows 7 by June or July. Source: ZDNet Asia
- Danny Beck, the product marketing manager for Windows in Australia says in a video that Windows 7 RC will be out in a couple of months. And some point in 6 to 12 months, if Microsoft is satisfied with the product, it will be released then. Source: Softpedia
- Rachel Linnemann, responsible for Windows business clients at Microsoft Germany said the following today at CEBIT, “We expect that Windows 7 in the first quarter of 2010 in Germany will be available.” The German version of Windows 7 is expected to be deployed at the same time as the English version, meaning this could apply to North American customers. Microsoft has yet to make any official statement on any release dates for RC or RTM for Windows 7. What are your guesses?

I think the reason that Microsoft hasn’t given out a solid release date yet is that they don’t have one.
They’re waiting to see what happens with the EU case against IE.

P.S. This should be made into a poll.
That must be it and I think you are right. At this stage of the game it looks like MS is probably even more on track than they inteded to be.
The antitrust issue could possibly have them changing the OS a bit which is what’s hindering them.

Im gonna go ahead and say April for the RC
