Russian rumor website Wzor is reporting that the Windows 7 RTM sign off is set for July 13. Throughout the development of Windows 7, Wzor has been known to continually leak out build strings and important dates.
This is a translated version of the roadmap given:
FINAL ROADMAP FOR WINDOWS 7 [CLIENT-SERVER]:
6/1 – 6/19 BUILDING RTM ESCROW – already assembled RTM ESCROW.
6/22 – 7/10 RTM RECALL – assembly and search for candidates to the final RTM release.
7/10 WINDOWS 7 RTM FINAL BUILD TARGET – build day “gold code”.
7/13 WINDOWS 7 RTM SIGN-OFF – the date of signing the final RTM release!
Wzor’s new date contradicts with what they had said earlier about June. It also contradicts Neowin’s previous post about their sources claiming the RTM sign off by the end of June. As of now, Wzor has stated that the latest RTM build has the following string: 6.1.7263.0.win7_rtm.090619-1900
Microsoft had previously announced that Windows 7 will be shipping October 22.
Update: Winfuture.de is reporting today that their sources claim Windows 7 will RTM on June 29, 2009. Here’s a quick summary of the dates floating around from the various news sites:
Neowin.net: June 26, 2009
WinFuture.de: June 29, 2009
WZor.net: July 13, 2009

Is there any chance that the release date will change?
I predict that the release date will not be Oct 22nd anymore. The new official release date will be Feb 31, 2010.
Don’t think impossibility exists for MS: UN may extend February by three days if they’re offered 9999 free win7 DVDs.
I’m hoping it’s June 26th, but I’m betting it’s the 29th.
I just hope we get a leak of the official RTM.. Does anybody thing M$ is going to turn off the RC\Beta keys etc??..
Does anybody know if M$ is going to allow people who are running the RC\Beta to continue until 3\1\2010? Or are they just going to turn everything off and force people to purchase\upgrade?
They Say Your Win7 Will Shutdown Every Two Hours
SRC http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/download.aspx
Qoute: Watch the calendar. The RC will expire on June 1, 2010. Starting on March 1, 2010, your PC will begin shutting down every two hours. Windows will notify you two weeks before the bi-hourly shutdowns start. To avoid interruption, you’ll need to install a non-expired version of Windows before March 1, 2010. You’ll also need to install the programs and data that you want to use.
If Microsoft do release Windows 7 on 22nd October 2009 as predicted, that will give users who do stick with the RC just over another 5 months to make up their minds before it starts shutting down, as mentioned above.
Personally I reckon that most will have decided that they want to go with the ‘final’ version by then… I know I will!
