Rumor: Windows 7 discounted pre-orders will come again

Microsoft allowed pre-orders for Windows 7 at half-price in Canada, US, and Japan a couple of weeks ago. The problem with this is that it was not something that was advertised strongly and most of the non tech-savvy community never got word of it at all.
Gizmodo has been quietly mentioning this in some of their Windows 7 articles for quite some time now so I felt it would only be right to pass the message on. The tech blog thinks that another set of deals will be coming near launch, “plus… [they've] heard some stuff.”
It might be a good idea to hold off on pre-ordering a copy for now until we’re closer to launch.

Well…I already pre-ordered. I swear if they start it up again at a lower price I will throw my PC in the trash can and get my old dusty iBook out of the attic!

Wonder if Australia will get it? Us Aussies either miss out or get stuff weeks after the rest of the world
If you pre-ordered through Amazon you will be ok…as I remember when I pre-ordered mine I was told in the email that if the price changes Amazon will adjust. I have seen this before doing pre-orders on other items through amazon. I doubt that MS will offer 50% off again though before October 22nd.
The announcement of the discounted Windows 7 had no expiration date on it.
I have been messing around with it off and on for several weeks, and finally decided to order it today, but I’m out of luck accorning to Microsoft.
I guess I’ll find someone who bought a new computer after July 1, and get their free copy.
