From what we are seeing so far, it seems that Microsoft is planning to stick to multiple versions of Windows 7 despite the strong criticism they received with the many versions of Vista that were released. These are the three rumored upgrade paths from Vista to Windows 7:
We already know for sure that Windows 7 Enterprise is part of the lineup. If these three rumored upgrade paths are indeed true, then it is very possible that there could be a Home Basic edition again if there is a “Home Premium” edition. This brings the list back to four editions for consumers, and just one for business users.

75% of the business world didn’t upgrade to Vista and decided to keep XP, so Microsoft isn’t going to allow upgrades from XP to W7? I think they are going to find that biting them in the ass real hard.
