It seems like a couple of people already knew a thing or two about the RTM before rumors about the RC sprang up in the blogosphere.
Ray, a Microsoft Certified Trainer who regularly writes at Bink.nu received tips from several sources that point to a 2009 release. Recently, a Microsoft MVP who “wasn’t supposed to say anyything” told him he had heard from another Microsoft employee that the RTM was scheduled for June/July. Another Microsoft employee also told him Windows 7 is scheduled to launch in September.
Interestingly enough, Microsoft’s fiscal year ends on June 30th. Perhaps whoever’s been spreading the idea of a Q4 2009 finish was referring to Microsoft’s fiscal year rather than our Gregorian Calendar.
