Microsoft’s Laptop Hunters campaign: Meet Matt and Olivia

The Microsoft Laptop Hunters ad series is part of a huge advertising campaign with the purpose of pushing the true value of the PC rather than the operating system. Apple’s ad campaigns have helped create the impression that the PC is associated with Windows. Since Microsoft’s success with Windows 7 will be dependent on PC sales, the company has decided to focus more on the PC itself.

Meet Matt and Olivia. Mom and dad are looking for a computer for sharing photos. They want their PC to have a large screen, great battery life, and cost under $700. Like usual, Matt and Olivia settled on an HP laptop.

The couple looked at the Mac briefly and said it was “too small” and “1000 dollars.”

I bought a MacBook Pro, to give the Macs a try. I always find myself booting into Windows though. We live in a Windows world whether Steve Jobs likes it or not.

I hope this doesn’t sound crazy, but does anyone know who played Olivia in this commercial? She looks very familiar, but I can’t quite place my finger on it.
