The much doubted retail box leak from CentrumXP that we posted about a few weeks ago proves to be entirely true. Microsoft Store has indirectly confirmed the Windows 7 box art with this image on their store front page under Windows 7. We’re saying “indirectly confirmed” because all we’re getting is images, but it is highly unlikely for Microsoft to preemptively post boxart that isn’t finalized.
You can see that all elements of the leaked shots are included in the Microsoft image, including lens flare and butterflies. The Windows 7 Ultimate boxart is there too, which highly suggests there will be retail boxes for Windows 7 Ultimate. We’ll post details as they come in but for now, Microsoft won’t comment on the retail boxes.
Head on over to CentrumXP for more high-resolution box art shots. How will you be buying Windows 7? Let us know by taking the poll below:

Hey, I know CentrumXP! POLAND RULEZ!!!
I will not be buying this Windows 7 version. I have WFW 3.11 and it is working just fine on my XT machine.
We are living in 2009 not in 1981. I7 CPU are here. Do you use you xt to count 1 + 1 = 2
The box art looks good, sort of simplifies how W7 performs. Fast & Simple!
Does anybody know how much Ultimate will cost? I still think Microsoft should give a rebat..I mean Refund after the first year of Vista’s debacle.
I plan on buying 2 Retail 64-Bit versions when it’s released, I hope Microsoft doesn’t mess up again.
