Microsoft releases Apple-like tours of Windows 7

Microsoft recently released some tours of Windows 7 that introduce some of the new and more useful features in the operating system. These are similar to Apple’s guided tours.

Here are the four videos that are currently published. The great thing about these ads is that they are able to quickly introduce and demonstrate Windows 7′s features without coming across as advertisements. The videos star Latika Kirtane, who also starred in Microsoft’s SongSmith videos. Anyone just starting to use Windows 7 should definitely check the videos out.

  • Start Menu Search, Connecting to WiFi, Setting up new Devices, Customziation Options, Media Center

  • Thumbnails, Aero Peek/Snap, Jumplists, HomeGroup (Setting up a Network), IE8 Web Slices, Importing and Editing Photos

  • Media Center, Streaming Media, DirectX 11

  • Parental Controls, Tweak UAC (User Account Control)
