Got a friend (which I need to support) who bought a PC with Starter preinstalled, pick up the printer (HP), says it cannot install the driver. Printer not working, M$ says it is part of the OS, or get it from HP. HP says the driver is part of the OS. Also struggle with Lexmark drivers etc. So very nice for the arguing about the 3-app if the system struggle to work in other ways.

Grow up. You are still pissing & moaning after 15 years using Micro$oft’s OS?
If you bought a W7 starter laptop and didn’t do your homework first then shame on you, not MS.
They have always been a big money in the pockets company and always will be. If you aren’t already running Linux it’s your loss.

i am using acer aspire one.
using win 7 stater…
1. cannot use my wireless function…is it bcoz of the OS??
2. cannot change the resolution…only using the 800×600..

help me..what can i do??

John, i think its not bcoz the 7.. maybe there is some conflict in your driver.
win 7 starter totally support the multimedia process. I have hp 311-1002TU with external dvd and 7 starter, work well when i played HD movie through the ext dvd..

and the there is no such thing as app limit, i think.. all work nicely without limitation.. and also thx to valentina, i can change my desktop background now

Visual Studio 2008
MSDN Library
SQL Managment Studio
Ultra Edit
MS Blend 3
Google Chrome
Word Pad
Eclipse
Core FTP Lite

Gotten bored of openning more apps…
Memory 1.26GB out of 2 GB used

No Problem with the netbook

So what limit????

why wont windows 7 play dvds i have a notebook with windows 7 starter edition on and it just will not play dvds im so annoyed because its just one of the most basic things to do. fortunatly i dont have the app limit so i suppose thats one good thing in a whold 1000 pt list of bad things about windows 7 starter.
