The Windows Media Center TV Pack is a piece of software that allows PCs to receive high-definition cable content without the need for specically certified systems. Microsoft disappointed a lot of people with their Vista Media Center TV pack when the feature to automatically skip commericals appeared to be purposely broken after an SDK update. Even worse, this new change in update would affect any plug-in trying to implement commercial-skipping abilities into Media Center.
But it looks like Microsoft have made sure commercial-skipping will be made available in Windows 7 Media Center. According to Engadget, the developer of the popular commercial-skipping utility DVRMSToolBox got his hands on the Windows 7 Media Center SDK, and ensures us that it won’t be long before we’ll be able to skip commercials without ever picking up the remote.

This is a great feature. I have been using it in MythTV for the last few years and it makes all the difference. It’s cool that W7MC will have this feature; hopefully it’s as good in W7MC.
I’m actually not too fond with Windows Media Center myself. Does anyone know if it’s possible to stream TV from the Xbox to my computer?

Hey guys, i have created a batch file that will automatically convert .wtv files back to .dvr-ms so ads can be removed. You just need to set it as a scheduled task.
