A look at Improvements in Windows 7 Handwriting

The Engineering Windows 7 blog has just pushed out an article talking about the work behind the handwriting recognition in Windows 7. In order for the handwriting engine to be built for a specific language, a lot of research goes into collecting data from writers around the world and of different demographics.

The article is a rather interesting read and is recommended for those curious about the behind-the-scenes work of Windows 7. You can read the full article here.

The Engineering Windows 7 weblog is written by the Windows 7 developers themselves to address any issues, concerns, or explain why something is made a certain way in Windows 7. I recommend Windows 7 Center readers to take a look at the blog and consider subscribing to it.

They should be improving the speech recognition! In Vista, it feels like more of a Beta program, and it’s herd to get it to type exactly what you want to say.
A lot more people have access to a mic than to a tablet PC anyway.
