Hello guyz! Earlier I post my problem about the failure I have with Alcohol 120's virtual drive as I upgrade my OS to Windows 7 x64 Build 7264. My Alcohol stopped making virtual drives as I upgrade my OS. Now I found the solution and I want to share it with you all. The problem is mainly about the SPTD layer that need to be install by Alcohol/Daemon for proper operations, which unluckily was blocked by the new OS as i upgrade. "Never upgrade windows OS while SPTD layer is still installed or active!" But since the damage has been done. I'll post the solution.
1.) Open regedit. And find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\sptd.
2.) Delete that folder "sptd" in the registry. If you can't, just right-click the folder, and click Permissions. Ask for "Full Control". Do this also to a sub-folder of "sptd" namely "cfg" (i actually already deleted it so i forgot). Just find ways to delete the "sptd" folder in the registry.
3.) Now rename or delete the 'sptd.sys' file found on Windows\system32\drivers.
4.) Download the newest SPTD Layer version 1.59 in "http://www.duplexsecure.com/en/downloads". Install and wait for confirmation to reboot.
5.) After reboot. Try opening the SPTD layer installer again and see if it tells you that SPTD layer is already installed. If it says so, continue on installing your Alcohol 120 or Daemon Tools.
That's all about it. This works on me just awhile ago. I hope it also will work on anyone of you who had the same problem. Thank you very much for reading.a simple thanks is appreciated if i've been of any help..
