A pretty funny Windows 7 email I got from Microsoft

A quote from the email announcing the public RC release on May 5:

" So you don’t need rush to make sure you get your copy. When you’re ready to download the RC, it’ll be waiting for you."

That's a pretty good way to say, "Yeah, so we're technically releasing it on May 5th, but I wouldn't get your hopes up of getting it anytime soon. We haven't done anything with our servers yet, so just kinda chill. I mean, damn man, you've got until June 31st. For real, don't download it on May 5th or the 6th... or the 7th for that matter."

Totally agree. Torrent p2p transfer was informally labeled "the future of file transfer" like 5 years ago. I figure M$ would want to jump on that train ASAP. Besides, most users never delete or even organize their completed downloads. It's brainless.

Instead of having separate folders for like "Install Files", music and movies, they just leave everything scattered in one folder. An "organizational clusterf*ck" is what I call it. Even with the inclusion of the Libraries feature of 7, most users won't utilize it.

Edit: The reasoning behind me mentioning that fact is to show that users will more than likely continue to seed the ISO LONG after they finish downloading it, since they won't be moving it out of the "completed downloads" folder.

Haha that was so funny you mentioned it because I thought the same when I saw the message.

I think they're not torrenting it because anyone can pretend they're MS and seed it. They're probably afraid someone will act as them and seed the final product
