But in Windows Se7en, it shows only two plans!

What can I do, to show those power plans like Vista? Help!

I like it to show all three too, But I don't think you can make it show all three options. I think thats just how Microsoft has it set up.

Hi, it is possible to show all 3 default power plans in win 7, you just need to unhide the other plans, just click on the little arrow to show the additional plans, also you are able to CREATE a customized power plan (look at the options in the left pane), also if you click on "change plan settings" then click on "Change advanced power settings" you will be able to customize the existing plans, hope this helps for you, im using windows 7 ultimate if you are guessing

But I don't see how this makes it so that when you click on the battery icon, you can choose from the three options right there. I think thats what the OP is referring to.

I just signed up to this form to let you know that I too wished Win 7 did not screw this up too.

However, i made a tool for myself that fixes this problem. Seeing how I made it for myself and it was not intended for public use, it is not professional looking as Microsoft would have made it.

    Anyhow it does the trick

    You can download it here

Once you download and install, click the neon battery icon on the system tray, and there you will see your options.

To uninstall, go to safe mode and click on the uninstaller.

Hope this help you. Feel free to pass it on (within the original packaging).

    Best of luck.

Thanks. I'll try it out. Do you know why we have to be in safe mode in order to uninstall it?

yes, because the program runs as a process and cannot be deleted unless it is stopped.
So if you uninstall, and you are not in safe mode, the program won't be removed.

In safe mode, the program will not run, therefore allowing it to be removed.

I made it this way, for those who had intentions of actually using it on a day to day basis (like myself), not for a 1 day trial lol.

Just found a small util at Techspot.com which allows to switch between all three power plans and is packed with a set additional options like switching to high performance on plugging in and to powersave on certain battery level threshhold. See Power Plan Assistant for Windows 7 - TechSpot Downloads
