Tech Ed 2009 conference is May 11~15, and win7 RC will be provided.

Now is the guessing game:will MS release the public RC on May5, so everybody has one copy on hand, or during the Tech Ed, so all focus will be on win7RC, or after Tech Ed??

As it stands this is what I think of the situation:

May 5 - actually Technet / MSDN subscription distribution and will leak really quickly for sure

May 11-15 - The conference. Kind of like PDC, I suppose RC will be handed out here

May 11-15 - public RC will launch sometime around this date. I'm guessing it could be May 15 because the MS concierge said may 15 and after that told everyone he didn't know, he probably knew and wasn't supposed to tell but did by accident.

My guess is next Mon Apr.27, TAP gets RC, so leak 1~2 days.
Public RC May 10~15, shouldn't later than that, and May 5 is nothing.:D

Windows 7 RC build 7100 has leaked (Confirmed real by me). Well seeded torrent on PB.

---------- Post added at 01:08 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:00 AM ----------

    Readme file from the torrent...

This is an untouched copy of the final Windows 7 Ultimate x86 RC build.

Your beta key should work fine with it.

As always, please buy the software when it is RTMed. A lot of work is involved to make this sweet OS.

Meh as tempting as it is to DL 7100 etc I'll wait for the official "May 5th" release... I don't feel like repartitioning again.... I wiped my current Win7 install in favor of a Linux, but I haven't done it yet... I may or may not do it.. I dunno yet... but when the real MS.com posting of the RC comes out I'm all over that like bread on butter.

    Changes in Final RC 7100

Why not start discussion about what have been changed in final RC instead of asking if it is real as it is already confirmed real and many have already installed.
A little UI changes, new wallpapers
and the most important updates will coming soon from hardware makers as microsoft already final RC to those makers. Thus drivers for RC will be coming soon.

There are too many things that don't match what Microsoft has said about the RC. So while we can all agree that build 7100 is real, it's a little hard to swallow that it's the release candidate.

    cversion.ini doesn't match.
    The expiration date doesn't match.
Many users still have obvious bugs in Media Center when an RC should have no obvious bugs.

I have decided to wait for the official dl, May 5 or 15 nevermind.

If there comes a leak with expiry in Jun 2010, I might change my mind lol.
