    Windows Anytime Upgrade

One of the most useful features of Windows 7 is Windows Anytime Upgrade. This feature allows you to upgrade you computer to a “better” version of Windows 7. Originally introduced in Windows Vista, Windows Anytime Upgrade required you to have the original Windows Vista installation DVD to complete the upgrade. In Windows 7, you do not need the installation DVD. All you need is your credit card or an upgrade key.
In this guide I will walk you through the steps of doing a Windows 7 upgrade with an upgrade key. The computer being upgraded is running Windows 7 Home Premium. Let’s Begin.

To start, open the Start Menu and search for “Upgrade” (without quotes). Click on “Windows Anytime Upgrade”.
You will see the following window.

Click on the “Enter an upgrade key” option.
You will now see the following window that will ask you for your upgrade key.

Enter your upgrade key in the text box.
After you enter your upgrade key you will see the following window.

You will now be required to read and accept the agreement.

After accepting the agreement, you will be warned that you need to save you work , and close any running programs. The upgrade will take approximately 10 minutes.

After clicking the “Upgrade” button your upgrade will now start.

After a few minutes your computer will begin to shut down and you will see the following message.

After the upgrade reaches about 32% your computer will restart and continue the upgrade until 100%.

After reaching 100% your computer will restart for the last time.

Once your computer is finished booting back up, you will see the following message.

You can now enjoy your “better” version of Windows 7.
    Thanks for reading!

Right now I have Windows 7 Home Premium build 7057 installed, I want to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate build 7068. Can I use the Windows Anytime Upgrade to do this? Can I use the Ultimate key that I have to do the upgrade? Or will I have to do a clean install?

You can upgrade. Just burn you a copy of the latest leak and install from there.

I tried doing this, but it said that I couldn't because I was using a different version. The only thing I can do is upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium Build 7068. But I want to upgrade to the ultimate version. It told me to use the Windows Anytime Upgrade

I am also wondering if it is possible to get an upgrade key, like the starter of this thread did.

Do none of the public keys work?
